The Kitchen BLEW UP!

Don't know if you can tell from the photos...the before and after with the ceiling fan. Also, the one above with Pooh, see the unclean area around Pooh??? Lots of cleaning!!!! The walls were black, but I get ahead of myself.

My wonderful husband set out to cook a fantastic dinner for us, and this is how it ended. Must say, however the chicken was awesome!

So, we learned that oil/grease fires are amazingly fast and that they cause a lot of cleanup(we painted the ceiling and cleaned the walls all in the same evening, see what great motivators kids are?? They're asleep, better get to it!). They also make a great BOOM!

Kids fine, husband fine, me fine, house fine, kitchen...it'll be a new, fun color! Altogether one exciting evening that will not be forgotten.

Thanks "Fire-guy"!

Anderson Gardens with the Kiddos

So, Stuart went off on his Men's retreat and the kiddo's and I tried a few things. First, we had a serious game of baseball in the backyard. Quickly followed by the knowledge that I cannot start a roastin' marshmallows fire to save my life! Today we headed to Anderson Gardens! Its so amazing there. You really feel like you're not anywhere NEAR home, nice!! Cam got stung by some manical bee. Seriously, Cam was just standing there and this bee flew by, barely brushed up against his leg and STUNG MY BOY! So, off to the office for some quick first aid, then the brave boy chose to continue on (he wanted to hike). So we saw the Koi fish and "hiked" all over. Beautiful, beautiful day!! Thanks God!

Cam's best shot yet...

This is a FINE photo by Cam...he took SO many, but thought this one was way worth sharing

cam's photo work...my bottom and the dirty dishes are his handiwork, how lovely. no comments please

Cam Conversations

So this morning we're driving along and Cam informs me that:

When I grow up I want to be a Firework.

me - you mean a fireman?

Cam - NO, a firework.

me - oh, like shoot them off?

Cam - yup. A firework.

Me- Pretty cool job! You know, as long as you love God and do what he wants that's the important thing.

Now, remind me of that statement in 20 years when the boy is shooting off fireworks at baseball games...

Edwards...Trip #1

I think we can feel fall coming...so we're fitting it all in (apparently in one week!). It was so beautiful today that we headed off the Edwards...played, ate some apple cider doughnuts, apples and played some more. Cam had a great time running around and Emmy (with her pink eye) did just fine. We all had a beautiful sun soaked orchard visit!

We're goin' to the ZOO ZOO ZOO!

Load 'em up and off we go! We went to the Zoo today! What fun!! We went with Colton, Corinne, Aleah, Kade and Sean. We saw all kinds of animals, but the Polar Bears put on quite a show as well as the otters! Kids were great and the weather was PERFECT!

Emmy was sick...as I discovered when Erin said, "she feels a little warm"; ummm, yeah. So, home, bath, tylenol and sleep...we shall see. But here are some fun pics of the day.

FLORIDA!!!! So we visited Stu's folks this past Labor Day Weekend. Cam got to go to a Devil Ray's baseball game with Uncle Dennis, Aunt Terre and Cousin Kendall. He had a great time (even with no cotton candy...). They had an area where he could even touch a sting ray, but he was "shy about it" so he didn't...maybe next time. Emery obviously had a great time...eating! What she does best. Granny and Papa had a great time with the kiddos...Emery even SAID, "Papa"! Brilliant no doubt.

All in all a wonderful family time...food, baseball, food, hangin' out, a night-time beach walk for the adults. What could be better than family and Chick Fil A? (Yup, we ate so much I was tired of it in 3 days! - that's work!)
