In the spirit of cheap:

I'm making my own laundry soap...
we'll have to see how well it works.

If its decent then its a steal!

We shall see, we shall see

The anticipation is KILLING me! Do you want me to bring some dirty clothes over so you can try it out :). Can't wait to see if it works!

Did it work? I just got some stuff to make cleaners myself, but I haven't ventured into the land of laundry soap yet...

It TOTALLY works! I still pretreat clothes with stains, and I DID add some scent to it from an essential oil dealie, but yup! It WORKS! I figure its about 5 bucks to make 5 gallons. I made this in Jan and I'm not quite halfway thru it. (we do LOTS of laundry around here) and that's with quite a few extra loads from snow play/mud/ice storm clean up etc...

So, $5 for at least 2 or 3 months...yeah, its about a $20 savings.

I still use fabric softner, but I cut it 3/4 to 1/4 with white vinegar...works just fine and lasts 3 times longer!
