Friends, here and coming

Okay, today Cam had a buddy over - Addison. And may I just say that I parented the CRAP out of this day! We pulled out all the stops and made playdough and did this new craft thing in his Focus on the Family magazine, we made a wand and AND I snookered them into dusting the entire lower level of the house. They even dusted the stairs. It was BEAUTIFUL. I got to play the part of the evil stepmom (and, seriously academy potential there) and Cam and Addi worked and laughed and goofed. Perfect.

I didn't realize how much I liked being there to see Cam interact with other kids. I was just used to always being in Kari's house, yard, general vicinity (poor woman! how she got anything done with us around I"ll never know). We'd stop by Aleah's, J's or Sean's. I don't know, I always thought it was lovely to chat with the moms, but I really enjoy watching and kinda being in on some of the playtime. I don't know...it was just a lot of fun today.

Em was SUPER tired. She had to get up early, I had an appt. so she went with Daddy for an hour. Cam had a great school day too. He's really liking it and SOAKING it up. He showed us a game he played called "Moo" (I don't really think that's the game, but it was so funny at the dinner table tonight--BTW thanks to Amanda for a yummy dinner!!!). He sorted m&m's be color and counted them. He also was reading with me and spotted the word/name God. Wow.

Just a good day. I love those. AND to top it off, the HARPS are on the way! We absolutely cannot wait. Its gonna be fun, chaos, late nights, little sleep, no routine and friends...okay, family. God is so good. And heaven is gonna rock. I know we'll be busy with our amazement of Him, but the fact that we get to be there and be amazed with our good friends is really cool.

So, there's my profound thoughts...it was a good day. G'night.

Chocolate or Cookie?

So, when I presented Emmy with the dessert options: Do you want chocolate or cookie?
Her response, without any hesitation:
"Chokit"

That's MY girl!

(She also put a piece of spaghetti on her head and said, "ook hat"

The Kids Stuff: Said and Done

Cam:
1. Counted in his head the number of kids on a page and said, "there are 8"
2. Recited his vowels
3. Tonight at dinner said, "if I eat 3 beans and 2 more, I'll have eaten 5"
4. Stu told Cam to "Potty, hands, teeth" before bed and Cam said, "potty doesn't belong, you mean bottom" Do you see the pattern???? Took me awhile. Hands and teeth are body parts...potty isn't. WOW.

Em:
1. Drags BABY around everywhere and buckles it into Cam's car seat when he's in school
2. Says, "I did it" "Stop it" "You sit" "Daddy 'mere sit" and LOTS of "comere"- come here and "'kay" (okay) ends most of her yammerings
3. She's into stuffed animals and baby dolls, and likes to take care of them...giving drinks, having them eat with her, going EVERYWHERE with her etc....

She fell pretty good today and had this little stuffed kitty in her hand. She got up, brushed herself off and said, "Oooo, kitty, 'kay?"

There's the stuff...enjoy

It was quiet one evening...not a good sign

While I was cleaning up the kitchen from a really BAD dinner and sweeping up, it was quiet...TOO QUIET. Cam had built a really cool train track, Emmy...she had "coloo-ed" herself.

She's quite proud of her "BE-BO" - bellybutton.

Cute Kids at the Park on a HOT August day

Picked Cam up from pre-school and headed to the park...thus the photos. It is SO hot, ugg. But, I'm quite thankful for hot...especially come January.

We've gone to the park the past few days right after school, because by noon its too hot to be out, unless you're in pool!

Isn't Emmy's bow a riot??? Its a hand-me-down from Cam's friend Addison. She knows its pretty too!

Cam Stuff

Cam and I took some random pics today for fun. The Diego Rescue Pack he's particularly proud of, he earned the $$ for it, and my house has never looked better! The Star Wars pic, its his new room and thanks to Miss Lindsay coming from Indy, it now looks so cool!

Surprise and some PICS

We had surprise visitors from Rkfd. this weekend. On Friday we got a phone call from the Loebachs (I'm sure I butchered the spelling). They drove down to E'town, just to see us and more importantly the kiddos. Fun! We ate some Panera Bagels that they spoiled us with and the kids got some candy, candy, candy. Then we just relaxed and enjoyed the weekend. Sat. night we went to a Sun. School class party at a house and watched fireworks (the Heartland Festival was this weekend, just a festival...we didn't know about it). The fireworks were great and Cam and Emmy loved them. Emmy also developed a fever and mysterious rash. I think its dr. time. Sun I stayed home with Em, who was fine by then, but I didn't want to spread it thru the nursery. Here are some pics that I took during our lazy morning together.

I love the mad face...we see this a lot. And we typically get a FINGER POINT as well. She's big into saying, "You, sit." And "'ook Daddy, 'ook" She totally loves her daddy!

Ownership

Tomorrow is officially the DAY. WE close, here in KY. And we OFFICIALLY will own 2 homes. Yuck. Still praying for a buyer up there, but in the end...we're blessed beyond measure. We CAN do this for awhile. Not long term mind you, but it'll be okay for awhile. But there is it, we own 2 homes.

Posing

We have a friend here in Louisville that needed Cam to pose for his Sunday School Curriculum, he wanted a picture of a kid that had hit his head on the ceiling from jumping on the bed. So, here's the boy in his first ever modeling job :)

Yesterday we got a slight break from the heat, at least in the morning...but then in the afternoone it kicked back up! Ugg...supposed to be 100 on thurs. But yesterday we played baseball and kickball in the yard.

Not so much Potty

Okay, when your child cries for a new diap. each time she wets, and then starts running a fever...its not necessarily potty time, its UTI time. Get medicine, new kid!

So, maybe she's not brilliant, just sick.
These are the little lessons I continue to learn.

The Potty saga continues

So, today we tried potty today...no luck so far, but we are ARE trying and she sat on the potty at church. But, no pee in potty today, still she is interested, its just do I have the time and patience for it...hmmm

Cam had school today. Had Addison over for lunch and has been crazy excited. Last night we walked to the pond, fed the fish (HUGE CAT FISH, just ask the Hanna, Denis and Austin both caught a foot long catfish) and walked on the paths.

That's all for now...

Its POTTY time!

That's right folks, the FUN times are here!

Emmy went potty today, really! And she got the popsicle reinforcement right after (Cam too) so that was exciting. Then, this evening we tried it before bed and wa-laa more PEE! Jelly bean.

So, I can't believe we're doing this so early. Don't really want to, but she started crying after each time she pooped to get the diaper OFF, then yesterday she was crying to get DIAPIE OFF and it was just Pee. That's when I knew, it was time. I kinda thought this afternoon was a fluke, but this evening she sat, did her thing and then said, "Momma ook, poddy, I poddy" I figure we're in for the long haul now.

Just think of all the money we'll save...right there's enough motivation to get me thru!

So, there's the update you really weren't looking for, but guess what, we are the JONESES and this is what you get.

Check out Stu online at www.firstchristianonline.com its pretty cool and the dock/lake videos are originals (we have a college student thats very talented)

Enjoy - pictures soon (but NOT of potty time)

Pre-K (is it Freequay or Reequay mom?)

The first day...no tears...REALLY...just off to school and the best part for Momma and Sis...picking up CAM!!

Here's the homework we had to do (Cam filled in the blanks of the story of his first day)

Today is MONDAY. It is my first day of Pre K. I wore MY BACKPACK, GREEN SHORTS & MY YODA SHIRT. For breakfast I ate a CHOCOLATE CHIP GRANOLA BAR, "It was healthy". After that I was taken to school by DAD (the first reply was, "a car"). My teachers names are MISS LINDA AND MISS DEBBIE. My friend CAMERON is in my class. The first thing we did was PLAYING WITH TOYS. Then we READ BOOKS. The part of the day I liked best was when we HAD SNACK TIME. But I did not like it WHEN I HAD TO SET UP THE CASTLE (apparently the girls asked for his help, he helped begrudgingly). When it was time to go home I felt NOT VERY GLAD because I wanted to STILL PLAY IN PRE K. Tomorrow I will GO TO PRE K.

The boy was whupped whooped whatever...way tired when he got home. But, it is 100 degrees today, who isn't tired.

All in all, a good day

Preschool

Cam starts PRE-K tomorrow. Its wicked early here. He goes M-THURS from 8-11. Stu will take him, because its at church. We're all excited/nervous. Cam loved the open house, his teachers are great and the classroom is awesome - huge! Plus he'll get recess time in the gym, ahh the gym. What could be better?

I'll post some pics of the event.
